–
An English verge watch with mock pendulum converted to a desk timepiece, circa 1680 (and later). Gilt verge movement, split Egyptian pillars, the backplate fitted with a gouache portrait miniature, probably of Queen Anne wearing a crown and ermine trimmed cape. Gold champlevé enamel dial with eccentric chapter ring at 12 o’clock, aperture below with mock pendulum, with blued steel regulator dial and the reserves engraved with scrolls. Now converted to a gold tambour case with glazed panels and pad legs.
