Minute repeating half hunter with Grande Sonnerie

An English 18 carat gold half hunting cased minute repeating Grande Sonnerie clock watch made for the Indian market, circa 1887. Lever escapement with highly jeweled gilt three quarter plate movement, some jewels carried in screwed chatons, bimetallic compensation balance, nib repeat. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds, the rim fitted with levers for choice of strike and engraved quarters only, full strike and striking/silence. Black enamel Roman numerals repeated on the front lid, the reverse with polished finish. The case hallmarked London 1887, case further stamped with casemaker’s mark ‘JW’ movement signed.
