French gold quarter repeating a toc verge watch Circa 1780

A French two colour gold and enamel open faced quarter repeating a toc watch, circa 1780. Gilt full plate verge movement with fusee, finely engraved balance bridge. White enamel dial, Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute track. Case back with polychrome enamel depicting a gentleman courting a lady with a dog in a landscape, both bezels decorated with two colour gold floral decorations. Movement signed and numbered 1535, case maker’s mark ‘MDC’.
