A fine and massive American gold hunting cased repeating split second chronograph pocket watch set with diamonds, sapphires and rubies, circa 1900. Highly jeweled nickel movement, lever escapement, gold cuvette. Gilt dial, champlevé green enamel stylized Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds and outer track for chronograph also in green enamel, blued steel moon hands. Heavy 18 carat gold case intricately engraved in high relief with scrolling foliate decoration, the cover with applied monogram using graduating cabochon sapphires and rubies and old European cut diamonds. Dial, cuvette and movement signed. Total diamond weight approximately 4.00 cts.
