Large pocket watch with striking mechanism
–
A large, skeletonized pocket watch with virgule escapement and striking mechanism of exceptional quality, made in Switzerland circa 1820. The open faced case of this watch is crafted from 18 Carat gold and has a reeded middle section. The white enamel dial is skeletonized and has black Arabic hour numerals and rare blued snake hands. The very elaborately skeletonized movement has a rare virgule escapement and a quarter hour repeater.
