The movement is functioning properly. The quarter repeater operates quickly and may need adjustment. The enamel dial is intact, with some minor restorations. The case is well preserved, exhibiting only light polishing and minor wear consistent with the watch’s age.

Frères Melly was a Swiss watch manufacturing and jewellery dealership operating in Geneva and Paris. The company originated from Les Frères Melly. By 1789, Henri Melly was the sole surviving partner of the original five brothers. His son, Jean Robert Melly, took over the business, continuing under the name Frères Melly until 1794. Jean André Melly may have also been involved as a business partner. Later, Henri Martin joined as a partner, and the company was renamed Frères Melly & Martin.
