A very rare pocket watch quality “Extra”, made by the International Watch Company in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, circa 1901. This watch has a numbered open faced case, which is crafted from 14 carat gold and has an engine turned back lid with an empty cartouche in the center. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel hands. The unusual quality movement features an IWC precision lever escapement, is marked “Extra” quality on the plate, has screwed gold chatons and a fine adjusting device.
