Yellow gold pocket chronometer watch

A Swiss 18 carat gold open faced keyless chronometer pocket watch, made by Vacheron & Constantin, circa 1901. The watch features a round yellow gold hinged case and a gold bowl signed Vacheron Constantin Genève Chronomètre. It has a white enamel dial with black Arabic hour numerals, an outer minute track, outermost red Arabic numerals for five minute intervals, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, and spade hands. The signed mechanical movement is crown wound, with a moustache lever escapement, adjusted, and includes a micrometric setting with the patent date Pat. Jan 81884.
