Gold open faced keyless lever watch

A fine Swiss 14 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch made by IWC Schaffhausen, circa 1920. It has a mechanical crown winding manual movement with a lever escapement. The gold coloured dial shows black Arabic numerals for the hours, an outer railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and blued steel hands. The dial bears a crisp International Watch Co. Schaffhausen signature below the 12 o’clock marker. The timepiece is housed in a smooth three body, 14 carat solid yellow gold open faced case, possibly a later addition, featuring a polished bezel, a fluted winding crown, and a suspension bow.

The watch is accompanied by a matching solid yellow gold chatelaine chain with geometric bar links, a central round loop, a secure swivel clasp, and a heavy rectangular terminal piece. Presented inside the original green leather IWC Schaffhausen box with a gold silk and dark green velvet lined interior bearing the gold stamped factory logo.
