Gold hunting cased pocket watch
–
A Swiss 14 carat pink gold hunting cased pocket watch with chased floral decoration, made by Albin Bourquin in La Chaux-de-Fonds, circa 1900-1920. This watch features a hand wound mechanical movement with lever escapement, signed and numbered on the cuvette. The white enamel dial displays Roman numerals for the hours, an outer railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and elegant pear shaped hands in blued steel. The dial is signed by Albin Bourquin. The round 14 carat pink gold case features a grooved middle band. Both the front cover and the case back are richly decorated with guilloché work and hand chased floral and foliage motifs, each centred with a cartouche: one left plain and unencrypted, the other finely engraved with a landscape scene. The signed and numbered pink gold cuvette is in 14 carat gold. Accompanied by a short 18 carat yellow gold forçat link chain.
