Pocket watch temperature compensation
–
An extremely rare very early Geneva lépine with temperature compensation, made by Vacheron & Constantin in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1830. The open faced numbered case was crafted from 18 Carat gold in an early case form with a relief rim and has an engine turned back. The especially beautiful high-quality white enamel screwed dial has an outer ring with black Roman numerals for the hours, subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock and pink gold hands. The cuvette has an owner’s engraving and the movement has a very rare bar calibre in highly refined Geneva quality, temperature compensation, parachute and a rare version of the early lever escapement.
Case and movement bear the same number and movement and cuvette are signed.
