Gold test anker chronometer with power reserve

A highly interesting Observatory anker chronometer with power reserve indicator and an extract from the archives made by Vacheron & Constantin in Geneva, Switzerland, circa 1920. The numbered case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold and the cuvette is marked Chronomètre. The white enamel dial has Arabic hour numerals, an outer minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, a power reserve indicator at 12 and blued steel Breguet hands. The numbered movement has a lever escapement, 21 jewels, wolf’s toothing, eight adjustments and a special fine adjusting device.
The dial, cuvette and movement are signed.

The watch presented here was not intended for sale, but for testing purposes at Observatories. According to the archives, it was made in 1920 and not sold until 1939. In the archive documents, the movement is marked ‘Development Resort’.
