Automatic Jacquemart with three hammer carillon
–
A very fine skeletonized pocket watch with automatic Jacquemart and three hammer carillon made in Switzerland, circa 1820. The numbered plain open faced case of this watch is crafted from 18 carat gold and on the skeletonized front side, three figures move for repetition, striking the bells with hammers. The small white enamel dial has Arabic hour numerals, outer minute divisions and blued steel hands. The movement has a verge escapement repeating the quarter hours with three hammers on a carillon.

This Jacquemart figure automaton is outstanding and extremely rare. What is special is the multicoloured design of the figures and of course, from a technical point of view the carillon beat, which is extremely rare in figure automata. Even simply designed machines with a carillon have already achieved prices between € 10.000 and 15.000 at auctions.
