A flat, high-quality Swiss 18 carat yellow gold minute repeating pocket watch, circa 1890. This watch features a polished plain case made of 18 carat gold. The dial is gold plated with an engine turned centre, Arabic numerals, an outer minutes track, a subsidiary dial for the seconds, and Breguet style hands. A rhodium plated movement, going barrel, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensated balance with gold poising screws and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve, polished steel index regulator; repeater work on the main plate, under the dial. It comes with the original box from the jeweller Türler in Zurich.

M.A. Plojoux was a renowned watchmaker based in Geneva, known for his exceptional timepieces featuring intricate complications and fine jewellery. His workshop was situated at 30 Rue du Rhône. Plojoux’s exceptional work was recognised with two awards at the 1878 Universal Exposition held in Paris. He also received a gold medal in 1880 and participated in the 1896 Swiss National Exhibition held in Geneva. The movement of this watch is a testament to the reputation of the company and impresses with its exceptional quality.
