Gold full hunter repeating chronograph lever watch
–
A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold hunting cased pocket watch with chronograph and quarter repeater, made by Le Phare in the early 20th century. This watch has a hand wound mechanical movement with a spiral balance, a lever escapement, an advance/delay adjustment rack, and a two hammer gong chime with a flywheel brake system for the quarter repeater. Two push buttons on the pendant activate the chronograph and quarter repeater strike. The white enamel dial shows Arabic numerals for hours and minutes, a minute track, a central chronograph hand, a small seconds hand, an external scale for 1/5 second intervals, and Louis XV style hands. The round 18 carat yellow gold case is smooth with a hinged hunter case back and a cover bearing a monogram in relief. The gold cuvette is signed Le Phare and bears World’s Fair medals.
