Gold automaton cylinder pocket watch

A fine Swiss, 18K gold, quarter repeating pocket watch with automaton Jacks, circa 1820. An Empire case, polished bezel and back, reeded band. Spring-loaded gilt metal cuvette. White enamel dial, annular with Breguet numerals and outer minute divisions, glazed centre disclosing two multicoloured gold and silver putti on blued steel ground, striking the hours and quarters on two bells, lower and centre skeletonized to view the going train. Blued steel Breguet hands. A Gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, going barrel, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance with flat balance spring. Polished steel balance bridge, bright steel repeat work on the backplate, repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. Cuvette signed.
