Gold open faced pocket watch

An elegant Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket chronograph, made by Omega in Geneva, circa 1943. The watch has a mechanical movement with lever escapement. The white enamel dial features Arabic numerals for the hours, an outer railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, gilt Breguet style hands, a large blued steel central chronograph seconds hand, and a 30 minute counter at 12 o’clock. The round 18 carat gold case has a smooth bezel, oval bow, and fluted crown with integrated chronograph push-piece. The officer’s style double back is engraved SM in gold, and the inner cuvette is decorated with competition medals.
