Gold savonnette pocket watch

A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold hunting cased (savonnette) pocket watch, circa 1900-1920. This watch features a hand wound mechanical lever movement. The gilt dial displays Arabic numerals for the hours and an outer minute track, with a minute counter at 6 o’clock. The round 18 carat yellow gold case is decorated with engraved bands, one side engraved with the initials A.M. The case back is numbered and is fitted with a gilt metal dust cover.

The case shows extensive damage throughout, including a crushed middle, a missing bezel and glass, and a distorted front cover, and is offered accordingly. The dial is in good condition for its age, notwithstanding the missing glass.
