A very fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced keyless lever dress watch, circa 1935. Retailed by Hodgson, Kennard & Co. This watch features a rhodium plated ligne movement with 15 jewels and a lever escapement, adjusted to three positions. It has a brushed silver dial adorned with applied gold Breguet numerals, an outer dot minute division, a subsidiary seconds dial, and original gold Breguet hands. The polished case is made of 18 carat gold and includes a gold hinged cuvette. The retailer signs the dial, while both the movement and the case bear the maker’s signature.

The Cresarrow hallmark indicates that it was made for the U.S. market. Inside the case back, it is personally inscribed: With love to Kerwin from Gail, July 30, 1935.

The case is in good condition, showing surface wear and scuffing typical of use. There are some small areas of pitting on the case back and visible patina throughout. The dial has surface spots and marks, including some scratches from the hands, and there is light dust present. The outermost perimeter shows some dark wear. The movement is functioning properly.
