Gold verge with the scene of a young couple

An attractive 18K gold and painted enamel paste-set pocket watch with protective gilt metal and glass outer, circa 1810. The reserve with paste-set outer, central enamel with a scene of a young seated couple, upper blue enamel with floral decorations and applied stones, pink cartouche with two figures holding a ribbon over an altar with a heart, paste-set bezel. White enamel dial, black Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and quarter Arabic numerals, aperture for winding at two positions and gold beetle and poker hands. Gilt full-plate movement, turned pillars, fusee barrel, verge escapement, pierced and engraved continental cock with steel end-cap, silver regulator dial. Dial and movement signed, movement and bow numbered.
