A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch made by Vacheron & Constantin in Geneva, circa 1920. This exceptional timepiece has a high quality mechanical crown winding signed movement featuring a lever escapement and a compensated balance wheel. The white enamel dial shows black Arabic numerals for the hours, an outer railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and gold spade hands. The watch is housed in an 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced case. It features a polished case back engraved on the interior with the stylized initials HJ, a solid gold inner cuvette inscribed Vacheron & Constantin Geneve Echappement a Ancre Balancier Compense, a fluted winding crown, and a sturdy round suspension bow.
