A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced Art Deco dress pocket watch made by Patek Philippe & Co in Geneva, retailed by Broliquier, circa 1939. This exceptional timepiece has a mechanical crown winding movement featuring a moustache lever escapement, 18 jewels, a spiral balance with micrometric adjustment, and classic Geneva stripes decoration, signed and numbered. The signed two tone silvered dial features painted black Arabic numerals for the hours, with applied gold Arabic numerals at 3, 9, and 12 o’clock, an outer minute track, a large subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and elegant gold hands. The watch is housed in an 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced case with a polished case back, hinged bezel, fluted winding crown, and sturdy round suspension bow.
