Gold keyless lever pocket watch

A very fine, large Swiss, 18K pink gold, hunting cased, keyless pocket watch, circa 1898. Sold on August 7, 1901. Accompanied by a Patek Philippe box and the Extract from the Archives. A polished case, the front cover with a small engraved central monogram JP, the interior with engraved dedication. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Pink gold spade hands. A frosted gilt movement, 17 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, straight-line moustache lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed.
