Gold and enamel pocket watch by Grisel & fils
–
A small, decorative gold enamel riflemen’s pocket watch, Circa 1898. This enchanting rifle watch was created for the rifle queen of the Neuchâtel rifle festival in 1898. It features a LeCoultre bridge movement with a three armed ring balance. The translucent enamel guilloché dial showcases Arabic radial hours, an outer minutes track, and gold Louis XV style hands. The 18K gold case is beautifully polychrome enamelled on the reverse. The back reveals Neuchâtel’s city coat of arms, elegantly framed by an oak leaf wreath, highlighted in exquisite polychrome enamel painting alongside the Swiss cross with a carabiner. The cuvette is signed: Tir Fédéral Neuchâtel.
