A small, decorative gold enamel pocket riflemen’s watch, Circa 1898. This enchanting rifle watch was made for the rifle queen of the Neuchâtel rifle festival in 1898. LeCoultre bridge movement, three armed ring balance. Translucent enamel guilloche dial with Arabic radial hours, outer minutes track, and gold Louis XV style hands. 18K gold case with polychrome enamelled on the reverse. The back shows Neuchatel’s city coat of arms framed by an oak leaf wreath in the finest, polychrome enamel painting in front of the Swiss cross with a carabiner. Cuvette signed: Tir Fédéral Neuchâtel
