An early Swiss 20 carat gold pair cased pocket watch, made by Gabriel Tallans in Lausanne, circa 1720.  Double body outer, repousse and chased with a Cupid, outer alternate bunches of flowers between polished sectors. Double body bassine inner, polished. Gold dial with Roman numerals in the center, Arabic numerals on the outer ring and blued steel hands. A hinged, gilt brass movement with baluster pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass English style cock. Signature on the dial and back plate.
