Deck watch in three part mahogany box
–
An unusual chronometer deck watch in a mahogany box made by Vacheron Constantin SA in Geneva, Switzerland, circa 1940. The open faced round brass test case has a removable crown that allows winding and time setting. The champagne coloured dial, the same size as the test case, features Arabic hour numerals, an outer minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel sword hands. The numbered movement is fitted with an ultra fine anker chronometer escapement, wolf’s toothing and Geneva striping decoration.
The dial and movement are signed.
