A very fine Swiss, unusual pocket chronometer with split seconds chronograph, circa 1927. Used during the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.
Silver, tiered, polished case with gold crown, pusher and hinge, pusher for chronograph at “11” and case maker’s punch mark “GS”. Signed enamel dial with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, outer seconds divisions, 60 min. counter, split-seconds chronograph and blued spade hands. Bridge movement, signed, nickel-plated, ground, with 10 adjustments, 34 jewels, finely matted and bevelled chronograph steel parts, ratchet wheel, large gold screw compensation balance and counterpoised lever.
