A Swiss decorative diamond set gold enamel pocket watch for the Chinese market with a very rare 8 day power reserve, circa 1810.
18 Carat gold case, engine turned and translucent cobalt blue enamelled, bezels set with diamonds, blue and white enamelled pendant, wavy lined engine turned back with translucent cobalt blue enamelling and mounted diamond set laurel wreath with a large single diamond in the center and case maker’s punch mark “R&C” (Rémond & Cie.). Enamel dial with radial Roman numerals and opened gold Breguet hands. Bridge movement, key wind, gilt, fully engraved with foliate decoration, with very large going barrel, cylinder escapement, three arm brass balance and pierced balance cock.
