This piece is one of the earliest pocket and pendant watches from the founding period of the company, shortly after the separation from Patek in 1845. Already in the early days of the company Patek Philippe, still under the name Patek & Czapek and Patek & Cie, they had already made the miniature watches their speciality and supplied the noble houses of Europe with their gold and enamel miniature watches. The most famous of these watches was the No. 2064, which was sold in a Geneva auction in 2004 for more than 55.000 Swiss francs.
At the time it was the smallest watch in the world. After the separation from Patek & Czapek in 1845, they supplied the same customers of their most important market, Poland, under the name Patek i Spolka as well as Czapek i Spolka for the following years as competitors with watches of the same quality.
