A Patek Philippe rarity, pocket watch with extremely rare stainless steel case with extract from the archives, circa 1938. A stainless steel, 3-part original case with pressed back, gilt lever movement with wolf’s toothing, movement in excellent condition, signed enamel dial, blued steel hands, in nearly unused and like new condition, with extract from the archives, very rare. In the late thirties, Patek Philippe produced a small number of these high-quality pocket watches with steel cases instead of the usual gold cases. These watches are much rarer and today popular collector’s pieces.
