A very fine and rare Swiss gold enamel pocket watch with quarter repeater, circa 1830.
18K rose gold case, signed, back with exquisite polychrome enamel painting: Venus, Minerva and a winged putto in the three arches of a cartouche, gold flower tendrils on a light blue ground; enamel border with gold owers and white enamel dots; engine turned band, pusher for repetition via pendant, slide for muting. Dial is enamel, signed, Arabic numerals, lozenge hands. Full plate movement, gilt, signed, 2 hammers, 2 gongs, three arm brass balance, engraved, pierced balance bridge.
