An extremely rare Observatory Chronometer, one of only 24 items produced by Longines in Saint Imier, Switzerland, circa 1930. The open faced case of this watch is glazed on both sides and its white enamel dial has Arabic hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel hands. The numbered observatory movement has a lever escapement a chronometer balance, a fine adjusting device and screwed chatons.
