An elegant pocket watch with alarm and independent jumping seconds from the property of a noble family, circa 1830.
An 18k gold, engine turned case, engine turned silver band, polychrome enamelled family crest and motto: “Fortiter in re suaviter in modo” (“Strong in the matter, gentle in the manner”).
Signed gold dome. guillochiert, peripheral hour dial with Roman numerals, auxiliary seconds, blued Breguet hands, bridge movement, frosted, gilt, one hammer, one gong, three barrels, applied silver alarm disc, side lever escapement, gold screw compensation balance, shock protection for balance.
