An ornamental gold enamel verge pocket watch, studded with half pearls, circa 1780.
An 18 carat gold, polychrome enamel watch, enamel dial, full plate movement, chain/fusee, three-arm brass balance.
The back is decorated with a polychrome enamel medallion with exquisite painting on translucent cobalt blue ground with engine turned pattern. It shows Venus with her son Cupid on her arm and is somewhat reminiscent of classical paintings of the Virgin Mary and Child.
