An important gold enamel verge pocket watch “The Amorous Couple” The artistic quality of the enamel painting and the perfection of the finish suggest that this was created by the Huaut family, circa 1680. gold/enamel case, the reverse side with a polychrome enamelled scene depicting two naked lovers wherein the man is carving initials in a tree, the sides with landscape vignettes separated by flowers, the interior with a classical Italic landscape with a wayfaring man, lavishly engraved bezel. Dial is gold/enamel, hatched border, enamel chapter ring with radial Roman numerals, in the centre a polychrome enamel plaque with a scene of another naked lovers, Louis XVI hands. Full plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, signed Adalberto Hochenadl, Venetia, No. 377, blued screws, chain/fusee, baluster shaped movement pillars, three-arm brass balance, engraved and florally pierced balance bridge, silver regulator disc.
