The first pocket watch with a minute repeater and perpetual calendar known to have been made by Patek Philippe dates back to 1874. Research indicates that between 1874 and 1889, the perpetual calendar movements varied slightly as the company worked on perfecting the complication. As a result, the watches made during this period could be considered unique, as no two were exactly identical. Patek Philippe finally patented their complication on May 23rd, 1889, under Swiss Patent No. 1018.

The watch is in good working order, with the movement running smoothly and the chronograph functioning properly. The date and moon phases are also advancing correctly. The case shows signs of wear and tear due to its age and previous use, but the monogram and engravings remain clear and well-defined. There is some slight rubbing on the marks located on the inside case back. The dial is in excellent condition, with no visible hairlines.

Running well with functional complications, this watch bears a service sticker and is personalised with the monogram MCDB on the front case. The cuvette is engraved with M.C.D. Bordeu, 1894.
