This watch is a real rarity from a technical point of view. Most early astronomical pocket watches have several sub dials for the different calendar functions; on this watch, all indications are read via central hands. The gold cased version is also extremely rare; these watches usually have silver cases. The Achard brothers mainly produced very fine enamel watches and highly complicated automata. This watch proves that they also made technically highly complex and extraordinarily rare astronomical watches before 1800.
