A very fine Swiss 18K gold and enamel open faced centre-second duplex pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1830. Spring Bouquet by Bovet. Bezels pendant and bow with champlevé enamelled floral decoration, the back enamel panel painted with a fine composition of summer flowers on a pale blue ground. Hinged glazed gold cuvette.

White enamel dial with Roman radial hours, outer minute track with Arabic quarter-hour numerals and blued steel spade hands. Mirror-polished and blued steel movement, Chinese calibre with a free-standing barrel, single wheel duplex escapement with steel escape wheel and bimetallic three-arm balance with wedge-shaped and partly blued steel weights, flat balance spring and an index regulator. Movement signed.
