A fine gold enamel and pearl set pocket watch, made in France for the Turkish market, circa 1800. Two body case, its back with a central circular panel overlaid with translucent royal blue guilloché enamel decorated with gold star paillons, a border of large pearls, further royal blue and white enamel border, outer border decorated with enamel and a repeat pattern of gold paillon flowers and leaves and bezel decorated to match.
White enamel dial with radial Islamic numerals, outer dot minute divisions, winding aperture at 2 o’clock and blued steel Breguet hands. Matte gilt and full plate movement with fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three arm brass balance with flat balance spring, pierced and engraved continental balance cock with polished steel endplate and a rack and pinion regulator with silvered dial.
Dial and movement signed.
