Corum: In 1955, René Bannwart and Simone Ries founded this company in La Chaux de Fonds and specialized in extravagant wristwatches with mechanical and quartz movements. Corum only makes high priced watches but does not manufacture its movements, so it is not a manufacturer. The company sourced its movements from ETA and Frederic Piguet, among others, before the latter was fully integrated into the Blancpain brand and became its exclusive supplier. Parmigiani manufactures the linear movements of the Golden Bridge. Corum is known for unusual design ideas.
