Gold, enamel and paste-set verge watch

A very fine and attractive Swiss 18K gold, enamel and paste-set pocket watch with a protective gilt metal and glazed outer case, circa 1810. The case back with a paste-set outer rim, a lower central polychrome enamel scene of a young seated couple, blue enamel with floral decorations and applied stones above, a pink-coloured cartouche with two figures holding a ribbon over an altar with a heart, paste-set bezel. White enamel dial with black Roman hours, outer minute divisions with quarter-hour Arabic numerals, an aperture for winding at 2 positions and gold beetle & poker hands. Gilt full-plate movement, turned pillars, fusee barrel, verge escapement, pierced and engraved continental cock with steel end-cap, silver regulator dial. Dial and movement signed, movement and bow numbered.
