A fine and very rare Swiss, 18K gold half hunting cased keyless pocket watch, circa 1869. Sold August 18, 1871. Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives. An entirely foliate engraved case sprung and hinged front cover with glazed aperture, blue champleve enamel radial Roman numerals, inner minute track, back cover with monogram. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel spade hands. A matte gilt movement, 15 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, straight-line moustache lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold temperature and meantime adjustment screws, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Case and cuvette signed, numbered on case and cuvette.
