A very fine and rare Swiss astronomic, 18K yellow gold minute repeating, keyless, hunting cased pocket watch, circa 1927. A lever chronometer with perpetual calendar, moon phases, the lunar calendar and a heavy 18K gold marine-link chain. Minute Repeating by Audemars Piguet & Co., Brassus. Made for the Hispanic market. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary dials for the months and four-year cycle, days of the week, date and seconds with the lunar calendar, aperture for the moon phases. Gold spade hands.
Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 29 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold temperature and meantime adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometre regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide in the band. With fitted box. Cuvette signed.
