A fine and rare Swiss, 18K yellow gold half-hunting cased keyless pocket watch, circa 1889. A solid case, engine-turned, reeded cover edges, cover with black enamelled radial Roman numerals around the aperture border, case back centred with the small monogram E.C, hinged gold cuvette engraved: Grand Prix, Paris 1889. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds dial. Blued steel double spade hands. A gilt brass movement, three-quarter plate, 15 jewels, spring detent escapement, two-arm compensation balance with gold poising and timing screws, blued steel flat balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed.
