A Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased keyless pocket watch made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, circa 1889. Retailed by W.W. Wattles in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. The jewelled movement with a lever escapement. A sapphire crystal cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued spade hands. A plain case with hinged back, personal inscription on the inside, Mary P. Lincoln June 7 1889, and the gold marks are visible on the inside of the back. Case numbered and signed by the retailer, movement numbered and signed by the watchmaker and retailer.
