A very fine Swiss 18 carat gold open faced quarter repeating lever Lépine pocket watch with an enamel portrait of Napoleon, circa 1820.
The case back with a polychrome enamel portrait of Napoleon surrounded by white enamel and translucent dark blue enamel with gold decoration, reeded midsection, signed peripheral. Cuvette engraved and inscribed. White enamel dial with roman numerals and outer minute divisions, blued steel hands. Bar movement, temperature compensation, early shock absorber, lever escapement, repeating the hours and quarter hours.
