Yellow gold repeater by Patek Philippe
–
A fine yellow gold, minute repeating, open faced, keyless lever watch, circa 1910. The watch features a manually wound nickel cal. 16”’ mechanical lever movement with 31 jewels and minute repeating on two steel gongs. It has a gilt guilloché dial with Breguet numerals, subsidiary seconds, and blued steel Breguet style hands. The case is made of 18 carat yellow gold and includes a repeating slide to the band, an engraved monogram, a cuvette, and a hinged case back. The case, dial, and movement are signed. It is accompanied by the Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives, confirming the production of this watch with a gilt dial and Breguet numerals in 1910 and its subsequent sale on May 10, 1922. The case inside has an inscription: Wesley Chambers Morck from Mother and Father, April 26, 1962.

The movement is in working condition. The minute repeating mechanism is in phase and chimes with a clear tone. The dial shows tarnishing throughout, particularly between 12, 3, and 5 o’clock towards the outer edge. The case exhibits surface wear consistent with age. It features a hidden hinge and a monogram with initials on the back. The hinges are firm and tight. Overall, the watch is very nice.
