Silver quarter repeating musical watch

A Swiss silver open faced quarter repeating keywound musical lever pocket watch, circa 1830. Playing on the hour or at will, with visible movement. Gilt, lever escapement, three arm brass balance, musical train with large spring barrel and pinned disc rotating against steel teeth, repeating on gongs activated by slide in the band. Gilt cuvette. Case polished, shuttered winding holes. Case with Chester hallmarks for 1874. Annular, cream enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five minute numerals, the centre open to reveal the movement. Blued steel spade hands.

This watch was upgraded in England in 1874. It was recased then, the escapement was converted, and a new dial was made.
