Gold open faced verge pocket watch
–
A fine Swiss gentleman’s quarter repeating pocket watch with verge escapement and two Jacquemarts à quatre couleur, circa 1820. This watch features an 18-carat gold engine-turned case with a reeded band. The enamel dial displays Arabic numerals and depicts a couple in Roman attire ringing a bell on a blue enamel background. The blued Breguet hands complement the design. The fire gilt full-plate movement is key-wound and features two hammers, two gongs, a verge escapement, a three-armed brass balance, a blued balance spring, and an engraved and pierced balance bridge.
